# LAMP hosting

LAMP combines Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP to host web applications. Prepare a VPS for your website, business application or PHP development environment.

- Host a PHP application
- Administer MySQL databases
- Configure multiple Apache sites

Check PHP versions and extensions required by your application. Prepare virtual hosts, file permissions, HTTPS and database backups.

## A foundation for PHP projects

An internal portal, catalogue or booking application can use a LAMP architecture. Apache handles web requests, PHP runs application logic and MySQL stores data. Your project still needs development or installation: having the stack does not mean a finished application is included.

## Match the stack to your code

Check required PHP versions and extensions before launch. Use separate database credentials for each project, review error logs and test data recovery. A small website and an application making many SQL queries have different resource requirements.

## Does LAMP include a control panel?

No. LAMP is a software stack. A panel such as cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin needs a separate installation and licence.
